BT Conferencing

FAQs

If you have any questions about BT Conferencing, you'll find a wealth of useful information here. Just use the drop-down menu below to choose the topic you are interested in.

01. How do I set up a BT Video Conferencing?

Scheduling a BT Video Conferencing is easy. Our highly-trained conferencing consultants are available 24x7x365 to guide you through the process. Let them handle room availability and reservations, and assist with conference options to ensure you have a successful and productive conference every time. Call the BT Conferencing Help desk to get started.

You will need to know:

  • The date and time of your meeting
  • Which sites you want to connect to
  • What speed you want to use

02. What if I can't hear or see any picture?

It is unlikely that your system or the service has failed. Check that:

  • The power on your TV monitor is on
  • The right channel is selected
  • Video/audio is un-muted either on the TV monitors or on the video conferencing hardware
  • Verify the connection of all the cables and connections.

If you are still experiencing problems, please consult with the BT Conferencing Help desk.

03. What is a Precall and why do I need it?

Precalls allow the call to be established in time for the scheduled start of your meeting so when you enter your conference room the meeting will be up and ready to start. Without a Precall, the first minutes of the meeting are spent connecting sites and wasting your participant's time, since the meeting can't start until all sites have been connected.

04. Do you have any hints to make my conference run smoothly?

  • Try to find a room with heavy curtains to block out sunlight
  • Light blue wallpaper helps with the video coding
  • Make sure you have good lighting available
  • Try to wear plain shirts and plain ties
  • Make your video sharper by avoiding patterns such as polka dot and stripes
  • Make sure participants have centrally placed microphones
  • Correct audio levels from TV speakers to reduce echo
