Using BT MeetMe Global Access

In terms of organizing and starting a conference, Global Access Numbers work identically to standard BT MeetMe toll and toll-free access.

What are Global Access Numbers?

BT MeetMe Global Access Numbers allow international participants to dial into conference calls using local dial-in numbers. Local numbers are easier to dial and more cost-effective than international numbers.

How do I use Global Access Numbers to chair and participate in a BT MeetMe conference?

For chairpersons

Inviting participants

To organize an international call as chairperson, simply send your participants:

  • The date, time, and time zone of the meeting
  • The appropriate local dial-in numbers for each international participant - or the BT MeetMe Global Access URL along with the dial-in numbers listed on your wallet card, for your account so participants can look up their own local dial-in numbers
  • The participant passcode (followed by the pound sign)

To dial-in to your conference if you are calling from outside the US, please follow the participant instructions below, except enter your chairperson passcode instead of the participant passcode.

For participants

To dial into an international conference call as a participant, please follow the following steps:

  1. Along with the date, time, time zone, and participant passcode for the conference, the chairperson should have already sent you either:
    1. The local dial-in number appropriate to your international location
    2. A link to a Global Access URL, where you can locate the appropriate local dial-in number to use
    3. Provide the list of international dial-in numbers
  2. Should you need to locate the appropriate local dial-in number from either the above links or a URL provided by the chairperson:
    1. On the list provided, locate the country you are calling from.
    2. Select either the international toll-free dial-in number (ITFN) or the local dial-in number (DDI) to access your conference call.
    3. If your country is not on the list, please use the international dial-in number to the US listed in the host's invitation.
  3. At the time of your conference, dial the ITFN or DDI.
  4. When prompted for a passcode, enter the participant passcode (followed by #), which should have been provided by the chairperson when you were invited to the conference.
