How does it work?

The BT video conferencing service enables the chairperson of the meeting to pre-book or self launch a video call online or by phone, and invite participants at multiple sites almost anywhere in the world to participate in a meeting.

To accommodate varying needs, we provide 'multi-point' and 'point-to-point' video conferencing over public ISDN and IP networks. Multi-point conferencing is where several sites, or locations, are linked together. Point-to-point conferencing links just two sites together.

BT Conferencing links all the video conferencing sites by receiving and managing video, audio and data signals from the equipment at each location. We mix the audio, select the appropriate video and data sources and transmit the results. We take care of all the technical requirements, so you can see and hear the meeting participants as if you were in the same room.

What do you need?

We make it easy. All you need is video conferencing equipment at each location, connected to either an IP network or ISDN line. BT Video Conferencing will:

• Register and pre-test the video conferencing equipment at each site to ensure it is compatible both with BT Video Conferencing facilities and with other sites
• Provide telephone numbers for booking your conferences and scheduling any additional support required
• Provide powerful web-based management tools that enable you to schedule and manage your conferences online at your convenience
