Your Webex service will be upgraded to the Latest release 41.11 according to the Cisco Webex maintenance schedule.
Summary of the upcoming release is below.
For Users
Webex Events (New)
- Registration IDs in Webex Events (New) is now an available option for the host when they schedule an event to ask Webex to generate a random ID (usually 6 bit) for each of the attendees. When an attendee joins the event, the attendee needs to input the ID together with an email address to join the event. This can prevent unauthorized attendee joining the event using the event link. This feature is available on a delayed release cycle.
- Scheduling Webex Events (New) now becomes easier. As a host, you can see the Schedule an event button on the site home page rather than it being hidden under the Schedule a meeting button. When you want to switch to Webex Events (classic), you can provide feedback on why you still use Webex Events (classic) rather than Webex Events (new).
- Hosts can invite attendees or upload CSV Files in Webex Events (New). Hosts can invite attendees using the event information page once they schedule an event. If there are a lot of attendees, then the host can upload .csv files that contain up to 10,000 attendees. If the host wants to add more than 10,000 attendees, they can upload multiple .csv files. Note: the number of attendees who can attend will be limited to the number defined in the subscription type that was purchased.
- User interface change in Webex Events. User interface changes in Webex Events (new) are aligned with the behavior in Webex Events (classic). By default, the Start button changes to Schedule in the Schedule an Event section.
- Support Q&A and chat during a practice session in Webex Events (New). Webex now allows attendees more interaction with panelists and hosts when the practice session is in progress. Attendees can ask questions and can chat with everyone (public chat) and chat with panelists.
- Configuration of Webex Control Hub and Webex Site Administration to support eCDN (Enterprise Content Distribution Network).
- Leverage Vbrick Rev's eCDN and eVCM capabilities for performance optimization.
- Admin needs to configure Vbrick Rev tenant on site admin.
- Customer is responsible for getting their own Vbrick Rev subscription license.
- If eCDN is enabled at time of scheduling but disabled before the Webcast starts, the host will see an error when trying to start the Webcast.
Webex Pre/In-Meeting Experience
- Support available for new operating system and browser. Webex site functionalities are available on browsers in Windows 11.
- In response to customer feedback, Webex Windows task bar notifications are being turned off.
- Web scheduler now supports Multiple time zones which enables the host to use the Time zone planner in the Webex Meetings and Webex Events Scheduler page to plan a time where the invitees who are based in multiple time zones can attend.
- Advanced host and cohost mute control in breakout sessions provides the host or cohost with an option to manage the audio of those attendees in that breakout session. This is the same functionality they have for attendees when in the main session.
- 4:3 Aspect Ratio cameras are now supported on Mac and Windows for Webex Meetings desktop apps.
- Full-band Music Mode Support provides a higher audio quality, especially in the case of music class. In order to activate this feature, contact your CSM to raise a provision ticket on your behalf.
- A New GDM Location Mumbai Data Center is being added to our existing list. This move allows all Webex Meeting application (Desktop, Mobile, and Web) to select the Mumbai Data Center as the destination for their computer audio sessions into their meetings. This will enhance the computer audio quality of Webex meeting participants from India and nearby regions in Asia Pacific.
